While working with AutoCAD you need to be as accurate as possible and for this you have to use Object Snap tool. It is a very handy tool present in AutoCAD which will increase the productivity, accuracy and performance. Object Snap term refers to the ability of the cursor to snap exactly on the specific point of an object like of you want to pick the center of a circle exactly at the intersection of two lines chances are you may miss the intersection point but with Osnap command you can pick the intersection point easily. Osnap has various different commands which include **Osnap ENDPOINT**, **Osnap INTERSECTION**, **Osnap NEAREST**, **Osnap MIDPOINT**, **Osnap TANGENT** and **Osnap CENTER**. ## Osnap ENDPOINT:

In order to draw Osnap Endpoint follow these steps.

- 1
^{st}of all draw two horizontal lines which should be a short distance away from each other. - Now click on
**LINE**icon from the**Draw toolbar**. - Now specify the 1
^{st}point. Move the cursor towards the lower right endpoint of the bottom line and then click down the moment you see a yellow osnap endpoint box with a little tooltip saying*endpoint*. - Now move the cursor up to the endpoint of the line above and click down the moment you see a yellow osnap endpoint box.
- Now press
**ESC**key from the keyboard to cancel the selection.

## Osnap INTERSECTION:

For applying Osnap INTERSECTION command you need to follow these simple steps.

- 1
^{st}of all draw two overlapping lines. - Now click on the
**LINE**icon in the draw toolbar. - Now specify the 1
^{st}point and move your cursor over the intersection of the intersection line and click down the moment you see a**yellow X**at the intersection. - Now move the cursor out a little distance and then click. After this clickdown to end the line.
- Now press ESC key from keyboard to cancel the command.

## Osnap NEAREST:

For using this command follow these steps.

- 1
^{st}of all draw a horizontal line of any distance. - Click on the
**LINE**icon. - Specify the 1
^{st}point. Move the cursor over the horizontal line until you see a yellow hour glass. - Click down when you see the yellow hour glass.
- Move the cursor up a little bit and click down.
- Press ESC key from your keyboard to end the line.

## Osnap MIDPOINT

For drawing osnap midpoint follow these steps.

- Draw a horizontal line of any length.
- Now click on the
**LINE**icon from the draw toolbar. - Now specify the 1
^{st}point. Move the cursor along the horizontal line till you see a**yellow triangle**. - Click down when you see the
**yellow osnap midpoint triangle**. - Now move the cursor up a little bit and click down to end the line.
- Press the
**ESC**key from the keyboard to cancel.

## Osnap TANGENT:

For using Osnap TANGENT command follow these steps.

- 1
^{st}of all draw two circles of any diameter. - Now click on the
**LINE**icon. - Now specify the 1
^{st}point and type in:**TAN**after this press**Enter**. - Now move the cursor over the circle on the right until you see a
**yellow osnap DEFERRED TANGENT**point and then click down. - Specify the 2
^{nd}point and type in:**TAN**and then press**Enter**. - Now move the cursor over the circle on the other side until you see a
**yellow osnap DEFERRED TANGENT**point and then click down. - A line will be drawn tangent between two circles.
